When a dog hears instead of its owner
It has happened to me several times that when people with good hearing first heard my strange accent, they were so surprised (e.g. when asking for the name of the street), that they turned away and left me. When I was with my assistance dog, such thing almost never happened to me. Even if people were embarrassed first, they squatted for a while to pet the dog and think over what happened, and when they stood up, we could start all over again.”- Eszter Loványi
